First Time in Pampanga and I’m Loving it

Another tick off in my 81 lists of provinces in the Philippines is Pampanga. Last Saturday we had a 1 whole day tour in different Barangays and Town in Pampanga.

Every town has a church for Catholics and the province is very rich in culture, history and they offer the best culinary experience for all foodies. They are known as the Culinary Capital of the Philippines and my favorite is their version of Sisig and a perfect pairing of ice cold beer, lol.

Bacolor Church – you can now see half of the top most part of the original church. An effect of the eruption of the Mt. Pinatubo in 1991, All over Central Luzon, Metro Manila, and even neighboring country- Taiwan was filled by ash fall.

Pampanga is also known for the people’s craftsmanship and they are very good in creating top notch and export quality furniture. Along the Marcos Highway, you will see a lot of furniture store (small and medium business) and one of the best furniture distributor and exporter in Pampanga is Betis Crafts, Inc.

Betis Crafts has over 44 years of experience in crafting furniture to many customers in the Philippines and all over the world – Europe, Middle East, and the USA.

Trivia: They made the Ms. Universe chair and was given to Ms. India Sushmita Sen. They are aiming to build the Ms. Universe chair again next year.

We experienced local Pampanga cuisine at Kusina ni Atching Lilian. And my fave is her version of Pork Sisig. She is called the gatekeeper of Kapangpangan cuisine.

The province is very rich in culture and history and the best place to go is their museums. Located in the heart of Angeles City, Pamintuan Mansion / Museu is a century old house of the prominent Pamintuan family and heads up guys! The place is freakish, horrific, haunted place but the museum itself is filled with Pampanga’s history and I highly suggest to visit this museum.

Another Museum to visit is the Center of Kapangpangan Studies at Holy Angel university and appreciate the Vicente Manansala Art Gallery and the Pinatubo Museum. Vicente Manansala is a Kapangpangan pride – A National Artist.

Pampanga now has been developing a lot of horizontal houses to give better living experience outside the crowded Metro Manila. Pampanga is a roughly 2-hr drive from Manila (Quezon City) and the province has big malls already such as Robinsons, SM and popular chains of supermarkets like Puregold and SM Hypermarket. One of the many realty properties that offer quality and beautiful houses is North Pine Land Inc. – Montana. You can have your own house and lot for only 2.2M pesos.
